Meet our Landscape Designers
Scott Fuhs
Scott has been landscaping for over 30 years; first as a homeowner and hobbyist, then as a degreed professional. Scott received an A.A.S. degree in Landscape Technologies in 2004 from Anoka Technical College and started his own landscape design/install company that very year. He was a member of the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association during that time. He became an addition to the Dundee staff in 2007 when he accepted a position as a designer. He sees planning and designing a residential site as an exciting and challenging endeavor.
He believes that extending a home's interior to an outdoor living area can provide the resident comfort and enjoyment after a day at work and bring families closer together. He uses the phrase "designing with your lifestyle in mind" often, and he does just that.
Scott works closely with clients on a personal basis and creates a detailed and artistic design using a computer-aided design program to bring the color of the individual plant varieties to life. He prefers to use natural materials native to Minnesota, but also designs using special plant materials and man-made stone products that can add an extra accent and make that private place quite special.
You can be assured that Scott will listen to you and observe and evaluate your situation in order to design what you want and need. With his determination and experience, combined with Dundee's sixty plus years in the industry, you can be assured your landscape will be to your satisfaction.

Craig M. Nelson
Craig M Nelson is a residential and commercial landscape designer with over 20 years experience creating award-winning projects including Excelsior & Grand in St. Louis Park, Target Park, and the Patrons Garden for the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
Craig approaches each project without preconceptions; “I don’t go into a project thinking that it must be done in a certain style, say, that this will be an English country garden. I always begin the design process with a thorough understanding of the site (its assets and challenges), and an appreciation of the client’s needs, wishes and dreams. Then, working closely with the client, I can apply my expertise and creativity to develop a sound plan tailored to their requirements.”
His choices in plants are always sympathetic to the site location, reflect the year-round beauty of the natural landscape, and complement the built environment. Walls, terraces, steps, and other "hardscape" features are also carefully planned to provide practical beauty and anchor the garden to site.
“As Americans spend more time entertaining friends and relaxing at home, it is important to maximize outdoor living spaces that are flexible and extend their seasonal use. Well-designed gardens and landscapes provide not only additional space, they also increase the value of the property.”
Craig M. Nelson received his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Minnesota.

Doug Fargo
Doug received a B.A. in the Art program at Bethel College of St. Paul in 1973.
With a desire to work in the outdoors he started classes in the Hennepin Technical
College system and received a certificate in the Landscape Industries program.
Shortly thereafter, he began working at Dundee Nursery as a Landscape Designer.
At the end of the 1981 season, Doug entered the National Landscape Association's annual award contest with a project he had done in Minnetonka. During their annual meeting in 1982, the ANLA awarded Dundee a national award for the design and installation of this residential entry and landscape project.
Doug's strongest interests are in the redesign of the home's entry approach, making it more welcoming and accessible from the driveway. The plantings will reflect both the homeowner's preferences as well as the site conditions. Doug also enjoys creating that relaxing patio or deck space to enhance both the quality of family living and the value of the property for years to come.
You can reach Doug at 763-253-2512.

Rachel Grommersch
Rachel is a designer with a passion for outdoor spaces. She is a Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association certified professional with a B.S. in Landscape Architecture from South Dakota State University. With the knowledge she has obtained she finds it rewarding to share with clients the possibilities for their outdoor environments. Approaching each individual project with care and attention to detail helps to ensure all the client's needs are met. Focusing on the functionality of a space leads to successful arrangement of hardscapes and plant materials. A well-executed design can provide a positive influence on one's quality of life. Having a functional landscape eliminates the frustration of a narrow walkway, a muddy backyard, shrubs covering windows, or flower beds that grow weeds. "It is my job to make sure the client has an aesthetically pleasing and well-designed landscape."
Rachel thrives by forming long-standing relationships with her clients. Being involved with every question and listening to every concern helps her produce a gratifying landscape plan and see it through to completion. Rachel would like to meet you and get you on the road to your new landscape.

Sarah Lloyd
Sarah is a landscape designer with an environmentalist's heart. She loves to create landscapes that blend in with their environment. "The landscape should
be a naturally flowing view. The best landscapes are those where the plants,
structures, and hardscapes all blend together and create unity and appear as if
they belong that way." Sarah is very good at visualizing a site. She has worked
on all types of terrain and all types of projects. She listens to her client's needs
and then interprets them into a landscape that matches her client's tastes.
Sarah has degrees in Landscape Design and Environmental Management from South Dakota State University. She has spent 5 years working with native prairie and lakeshore restorations, thus giving her a great base of knowledge of native plants and creative ideas for solving erosion issues.
In addition to her plant knowledge, she also has a strong background working with hardscapes such as patios, walkways, driveways, and retaining walls. She especially likes to design patio spaces that create an outdoor living space so her clients can get out. relax, and enjoy their time and surroundings. "There are so many materials out there to be creative with. They are just begging me to find another way to use them. For example, I recently came up with the idea to use patio stone to create outdoor furniture! It's comfortable and it won't blow away!!"
Sarah has many great ideas and would love to work with you on your next project. You can reach her at 763-253-2509.
